The Purpose

I've created this blog to allow people to follow me as I put this trip together, with little idea where it may end up or the ends it may produce. I will do my best to keep it current as I venture around.

The title of this blog is misleading, because I have no real "purpose" for my venture. All I know is that the prospect of moving, either on foot, by air, on my bike, or otherwise, thrills me. I plan to ride this thrill for as long as I can, and when I am finished I will pursue something else.

This Chronicle is for my family and friends, and I hope that it will ease some of my mother's concerns. I will update it as I have the opportunity with any maps, contact information, or other materials I have available.

I have purposely made no plans for this trip outside of providing for the essentials of food, water and shelter.

I also have a bike.
